BACP.​

Accreditation enables clients, employers and colleagues to recognise proven, competent practitioners. This means that the selection of a counsellor or therapist can be based on an informed choice rather than speculation. To date, BACP has over 44,000 registered counsellors/psychotherapeutic counsellors, of whom a subset are accredited.

To demonstrate the capacity for independent, competent, ethical practice a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist has demonstrated a commitment to high standards and enable the public to have confidence that the practitioner works ethically and is trained and qualified. BACP Accredited counsellors and psychotherapists have surpassed registration standards and have demonstrated mature competence in counselling/psychotherapy training and practice.
